Học cách sử dụng 3 động từ watch, see, look

3 động từ có ý nghĩa liên quan đến chữ "Nhìn", nhưng giữa chúng có sự khác biệt lớn về ý nghĩa và cách sử dụng mà không phải người học Tiếng Anh nào cũng lưu ý và nhận ra.

Chúng ta hãy đọc cách sử dụng những động từ này và áp dụng vào văn cảnh cho chính xác nhé
1. Watch

A. to look at somebody/something for a time, paying attention to what happens: Quan sát ai đó/ vật gì đó trong 1 lúc, chú ý chuyện gì đang xảy ra


- watch somebody/something
Ví dụ: He watches television/a football game every saturday morning.
- watch something for something
Ví dụ: He watched the house for signs of activity.
B. watch somebody/something (for somebody): to take care of somebody/something for a short time : Trông chừng

Ví dụ: Could you watch my bags for me while I buy a paper?
C. to be careful about something (Cẩn thận)
- Watch something/yourself
Ví dụ: Watch yourself! (= be careful, because you're in a dangerous situation)
Ví dụ: Watch your bag—there are thieves around.

2. LOOK:

A. to turn your eyes in a particular direction (Nhìn về 1 hướng xác định)

Ví du: Don't look now, but there's someone staring at you!

B. to try to find somebody/something (Tìm kiếm )

Ví dụ: Are you still looking for a job?

C. to pay attention to something (Chú ý đến điều gì)

- look (at something)
Ví dụ: Look at the time! We're going to be late.

D. linking verb to seem; to appear (Có vẻ như)

Ví dụ: That book looks interesting

3. SEE



A. to become aware of somebody/something by using your eyes: Dùng mắt để nhận biết sự vật

- see (somebody/something) : Nhìn thấy
Ví dụ: She looked for him but couldn't see him in the crowd.
- see somebody/something + adj.
Ví dụ: I hate to see you unhappy.see somebody/something doing something She was seen running away from the scene of the crime.
- see somebody/something do something
Ví dụ: I saw you put the key in your pocket.

B. to have or use the power of sight :Nhìn được (Năng lực nhìn)
She will never see again (= she has become blind).
- see somebody: to visit somebody (Thăm ai đó)

Ví dụ: I have to see the doctor this weekend (Tôi phải đi khám bác sỉ cuối tuần này)
